The success of a campaign on Kickstarter is dependent on various factors such as the goal amount, campaign duration, project category, and the rewards offered to backers. The proposed model uses a dataset of over 300,000 Kickstarter campaigns from 2009 to 2018. The dataset is preprocessed to handle missing values and categorical features. It is then split into training and test sets, with the training set being used to train different machine learning algorithms. The performance of various classification algorithms such as Logistic Regression, Random Forest, and Support Vector Machine is evaluated using metrics like accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score. The best performing algorithm is selected for the final model, which is then used to predict the success of a Kickstarter campaign. The results show that the Random Forest algorithm performs the best with an accuracy of 79% and an F1 score of 0.78. The most important features in predicting the success of a campaign are the goal amount, campaign duration, and project category. The model can be used by individuals or organizations to evaluate the chances of their Kickstarter campaign's success and make informed decisions about their project.
